Pro feature
One buying organisation, many people
Most wholesale plugins model a business as a single user account with a discount. Real trade buyers have a purchasing team, an approver, and a limit on what each person can spend.
How it works
- 1
Create the company
A company is its own record — name, tax details, billing address — not a user with extra fields bolted on.
- 2
Invite the buyers
Email invitations with single-use tokens that expire after seven days and only work for the address they were sent to.
- 3
Set roles and limits
Admins manage the company; buyers order. Give either a per-order cap, a monthly cap, or both.
- 4
Approve what needs approving
An order over the limit is held, stock is reserved, and the company admin approves or rejects it from an emailed link.
What you get
-
The company’s group beats the buyer’s own
Pricing resolves through the company first, so a new sub-user is on the right contract from their first order — nobody has to remember to assign them.
-
Shared order history
Everyone in the company sees what the company bought, not just their own orders. Every order is stamped with the company that placed it.
-
Spend limits that count held orders
An order waiting for approval still counts toward the monthly limit, so three pending orders cannot quietly blow through the cap together.
-
Approvals without wp-admin
Approvers decide from a signed link in the email. The link is bound to that order and that decision, and the approver’s permission is re-checked when they click.
-
Stock is reserved while held
A held order reserves its stock and releases it if the order is rejected or the hold expires — three days by default.
-
A real audit trail
Every decision is written to both the order notes and a dedicated audit log, with who decided and when.
Where it meets checkout
Held before payment, in both checkouts
An order that needs approval never reaches the payment gateway. In the block checkout the held status is enough on its own; in the classic checkout the order is held and redirected before the gateway runs. Same outcome, both paths, no half-charged orders.
Approved orders can go straight onto account
Approval hands off to the net-terms gateway if the company buys on invoice, so the flow is approve → fulfil → invoice, with the credit ledger debited exactly once. See net terms and credit →
