Migration guide
Switching from B2BKing
The importer reads B2BKing’s own data directly, so you can move a store across without re-keying a single group or rule.
Four steps
- 1
Install B2B Suite (free)
Alongside your current plugin. Nothing changes on your storefront yet.
- 2
Open Settings → Import
The importer detects the source data and shows you what it found, without writing anything.
- 3
Review the preview
Groups, customers and rules to be created, plus a warning for anything with no equivalent.
- 4
Run it, then verify
Confirm the import, then use the Price Explainer and view-as-customer on a product you know.
What carries over
| In B2BKing | In B2B Suite | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Customer groups | Customer groups | Created with their names; imported groups are marked with their source. |
| Customer group assignment | Group membership | Each user is placed in the matching group. |
| Account approval state | Applicant status | Approved, pending and rejected all carry over — pending and rejected buyers keep seeing retail prices. |
| Percentage discount rules | Percentage price rules | Mapped directly, per group and per target. |
| Fixed amount discount rules | Amount-off price rules | Mapped directly. |
| Fixed price rules | Fixed price rules | Mapped directly. |
| Rule targets | Rule scope | Product and shop-wide targets map to free scopes; category, tag and per-customer targets need Pro. |
What does not carry over
Rule types with no equivalent in B2B Suite are reported as warnings naming the source rule, so you can decide what to re-create rather than discovering a wrong price later. Anything that is a feature rather than data — custom form layouts, page settings, styling — is set up fresh, which the setup wizard walks you through.
Free tier limits during a trial migration
The free plugin includes one customer group, so a multi-group B2BKing store should run the import with Pro active to bring every group across. The dry run works either way and will show you exactly how many groups it found before you decide.
Rolling back
The importer never writes to B2BKing’s data. If you want to go back, deactivate B2B Suite and reactivate B2BKing — its groups, rules and customer assignments are exactly as you left them. We would still recommend doing the first run on a staging copy.
